Linda Lawrence to rock House Party!

We are pleased to announce that Linda Lawrence, from Your Country 102.7 WXBM, has signed on to emcee this year.

Linda has been with WXBM since 1992, and is currently the voice of the morning (along with sidekick Marty). According to her station bio, street smart and coy, Linda was born and raised in DeFuniak Springs by a short and feisty southern mama and a Southern Baptist preacher daddy. The youngest of four, Linda is of course adored by her older brothers and sisters. So much in fact that they have all moved out of state. Linda’s hobbies are sleeping…and napping. She has four children, (all brilliant by the way) a precious baby dog that she sings to (badly) and a husband yet not called BDG. Linda loves people…as long as they stay away from her…and she loves to eat. Her many phobias have caused WXBM to hire a full time psychotherapist which has helped tremendously…after ten years. Linda is only a little crazy.

And remember, when she says “God bless you folks!!”…that means she’s had enough.

Just $25 per person buys admission, entertainment, silent and live auctions and some of the best door prizes we’ve ever seen. And proceeds will go to the many organizations in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties that are working every day to end homelessness.

House Party needs your help. If you’re looking for a worthwhile cause to support, please consider volunteering for House Party. All proceeds from this event will directly support the fight against homelessness in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Here are our available positions:

—Poster “posters”: we have posters to go up in area restaurants, churches, retail stores, etc.

—Auction item procurers: small and large items that will be auctioned off during our event will help us raise needed funds.

—Ticket sellers: tickets are just $25; buy yours and then ask your friends. You’ll enjoy a great evening and help us fight homelessness at the same time.

—Party coordinators: everything from setting up, taking down, manning the ticket table and directing people to their seats. We need you during House Party!

2009 House Party to help local homeless

Party with a purpose with the EscaRosa Coalition on the Homeless and support the fight against local homelessness during its first annual “House Party” Friday, September 11^th beginning at 6 p.m. The event will take place at My Spayce, 212 E. Garden St. in Pensacola.

Guests will enjoy entertainment from Christian music singer and Dove Award winner Margaret Becker. Live and silent auctions and prize drawings every hour will also take place throughout the evening. Emceeing the event is Linda Lawrence from WXBM.
